When you say Danube Delta, you automatically mean "pike caviar salad". It is the most popular and representative dish of the Delta, appreciated by tourists and frequently consumed by locals. Originally, the recipe is Greek, brought by the community that developed in the Dobrogea region. It was taken over and improved by all the inhabitants of the Delta, especially by the fishermen from Sulina, Tulcea and Sf. Gheorghe.

In Northern Dobrogea, almost 90 kilometers from Constanța and about 60 kilometers from Tulcea, is the village of Stejaru, the place where a community of Aromanians lives, most of them shepherds of sheep and goats. Their ancestors, Bijduven Aromanians, with herds of sheep and many horses, passed through Quadrilater and then reached these lands.
