The hills of Dobrogea

The sunny region between the Danube and the Black Sea is a vineyard heaven, with extensive vineyards and rich fruit. In the land bathed in water and reddened by the sun, the cultivation of the vine was intertwined with the religion of those in these lands, natives or naturalized. The cult of Bacchus/Dionysus was practiced insatiably by the peoples who lived in Dobrogea. The proof is the vestiges scattered everywhere by our ancestors, which archaeologists bring to light. In the museums founded next to the ancient cities or next to the largest vineyards, amphorae and other objects dedicated to the god of wine are displayed in a place of honor. In an oenological map of Romania, Dobrogea is considered a kingdom of the vine. It is divided into two large regions: the Colinele Dobrogei wine region and the Terasele Dunării wine region. Specialists describe the wines of Dobrogea as noble, being of the varieties Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Muscat Ottonel, Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinor Noir, Feteasca Albă si Neagra, etc.
